Your baby's audio is designed to stay on your home network.

EarHorn streams audio directly between your devices over your home WiFi — no cloud servers, no accounts, no audio data leaving your network. By design, audio only travels between your paired devices and never passes through our servers.

Smart Sound Detection

Hear what triggered the alert. EarHorn captures the sound that crossed your threshold — not just what came after. Smart filtering is designed to reduce false alarms from brief noises. Results depend on threshold settings, device placement, and environmental conditions.

See the Nursery at a Glance

5 minutes of sound history, live. A rolling audio graph shows you whether the nursery has been quiet or restless. Adjust the sensitivity threshold right from your device — no tiptoeing back to the nursery.

Background Alerts That Work

Get notified even when the app isn't open. Push notifications alert you when sound is detected, even if you've switched to another app. Battery alerts warn you before the baby device dies, and disconnection alerts let you know if the connection drops.

Connect the Whole House Beta

Multiple parents, one baby monitor. Both parents can listen simultaneously from separate devices. Perfect for a two-story house or when grandparents are visiting. (Multi-parent support is in beta testing.)

Where EarHorn fits in.

EarHorn isn't a replacement for a nursery camera — it's the monitor you have with you everywhere else.

Common questions

Does EarHorn work without WiFi?

EarHorn requires both devices to be on the same WiFi network for audio streaming. Push notifications (for when the app is backgrounded) require an internet connection, but the core monitoring works entirely over your local network.

How secure is the connection?

EarHorn uses P-256 elliptic curve cryptography, a widely-used industry standard recommended by NIST. Devices authenticate each other directly with a 3-step cryptographic handshake. Encryption keys never leave your phone.

Can I use an old iPhone as the baby unit?

Yes. Any iPhone running iOS 16.7 or later works. That old iPhone 8 in your drawer is a great baby monitor.

Why doesn't EarHorn have video?

By design. No camera means no video to hack, no cloud storage of nursery footage, and dramatically better battery life. Audio is what matters at 3 AM — you need to know if your baby is crying, not watch them sleep.
